Turns out they were going to do a tribute concert to Rosalía in Córdoba (Argentina), a symphonic show they'd been preparing for months, and they had to cancel it because of the uproar caused by a TikTok from Rosalía herself. The thing is that she reposted a video of Mia Khalifa singing "La Perla" with a caption that many Argentines interpreted as a jab after losing the final against Spain. Then she deleted it and apologized, but the damage was done.
The production company (Argentine, mind you) said they received "numerous hateful and angry messages" and that they understood the discomfort because football is part of their identity. I don't know, to me it seems like a huge exaggeration. The artist wasn't the organizer of the tribute, and people have taken it out on the tribute as if Rosalía had gone out into the street to insult Messi. But hey, that's how things are post-World Cup: everything becomes dynamite.
