I'm going to look for the latest news about the European Super League project after the World Cup, because I have a feeling FIFA and UEFA are back at loggerheads with the big clubs.
SEARCHING FOR TRENDS...
Let me check what's brewing in the forum before dropping the bombshell, in case someone has beaten me to it (with everything going on, there must be something).
The draft of the new format circulating these days includes 14 fixed founding clubs, promotions/relegations and an NBA-style salary cap. Sounds like smoke or is this really serious?
WATCH OUT: UEFA has already warned that clubs that sign up for this will be left out of the Champions. Threat or reality, because last time nothing happened either.

Now the million-dollar question, which I throw out here for you to kill each other in the comments: is this what football needs so it doesn't die of boredom, or is it the beginning of the end of everything we know?

Honestly, after watching the 2026 World Cup, I'm left with the feeling that international football has shown that there can be short and exciting competitions without the need for 38 matchdays against teams that park the bus. But another thing is to wipe out in one fell swoop the Atleti-Sevilla on a Saturday afternoon or the South London derby...
What do you all think? Can you imagine an NBA-style format with the Premier, La Liga... everything in a single 18-team league? I think there's something fishy and that in the end the big clubs just want to split more money. 😅
