Guys, I just saw the first leaked images of the new Camp Nou and I'm blown away. Today July 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM, they opened the doors for Barça's first preseason match against Milan and the truth is that the stadium looks like it's from another planet. But of course, all this comes with its controversy: season tickets have gone up by an average of 40%, the capacity remains at 105,000 (not bad, but not the 110,000 they promised), and on top of that the construction costs have exceeded 1.5 billion bucks. Look at that retractable roof and the 360° LED screen ring. Amazing. But careful, Barça had to take out a loan of 1.2 billion to pay for it, and with interest it goes to more than 1.8 billion over 30 years. Laporta is crazy.
According to the official FC Barcelona data presented at the Shareholders' Meeting of June 2026, the new Camp Nou has a capacity of 104.892 seated spectators (compared to the previous 99.354). The 36 VIP suites generate estimated revenue of 78M€/year, three times what it was before.
Now the table that hurts the most: the price comparison with other top stadiums in the world. I took the data from the official websites of each club (I'm not making anything up).

The Bernabéu beats them in revenue per match despite having less capacity. What is Barça doing wrong? Note that Barça has more season ticket holders (83,000 on the waiting list) than Madrid (approx. 65,000). But of course, Madrid squeezes every inch with concerts and events.

I think Barça has been left halfway. 105,000 is fine, but the Bernabéu with 85,000 pulls in more dough because it squeezes the tourist and the VIP member. And then there's the construction: it has taken 3 years longer than planned and the cost overrun has been 35%. Is it the best construction in football or have they gone overboard? I'll read you!
